I'm Still Here

I know I need to start writing more! Although I do have an almost reasonable excuse for this week, other than just being lazy.
Also I'm starting to think that the only way I can sit down and write is when I'm drinking Dr Pepper, which is not a habit I'm like to get into.
Anyway my first giveaway has ended, thanks to everyone who entered, and all the new followers. I'd also like to thank the few honest entrees that selected the "nah, I'll just delete you later" option; although I guess since they're not following they'll never know I enjoyed their honesty. It was fun for my first try. I can't wait to try it again, which will probably not be for a few months, unless something comes up before than. I think I signed up for another hop in October but hopefully I'll be more consistent by then that I can set something up sooner.

Intoxication by Tim Kizer is a short story about a woman named Leslie who believes a co-worker is trying to poison her. After her friend drinks the coffee given to Leslie, and becomes sick, she starts getting suspicious and begins to investigate.

Once Upon A Read-a-thon Wrap Up

I'd like to think that it makes perfect sense that I did most of my reading on the last day of the read-a-thon. I don't know why but I really got into it yesterday afternoon. So much that I didn't even bother to make any updates here, even more I missed Lucy Must Be Traded, Charlie Brown! on TV last night. I'll admit when I realized that I missed it I almost cried a little.
I mean that figuratively I'm not that far gone. Luckily someone sent me the link so I can watch it here. You gotta love Charlie Brown, and I am so Lucy!

Once Upon a Read-a-thon Day 2

Once Upon a Read-a-Thon

It amazes me that some people participating in this read-a-thon have finished not one but FOUR books. Seriously they need to share their secret! I've only been able to read a whole book in a day once, and I can't even remember the last time I finished one in less than three days.
Although I haven't wanted to rush my books lately, I usually feel bad when I finish them so quickly, it's like I just want to get it over with and move on. I prefer to savor a book. Or however you're supposed to enjoy a book.

Once Upon A Read-a-thon Day 1

Once Upon a Read-a-Thon
I'm actually surprised to report that I have made some pretty good progress today, especially since I started off pretty late.

I've been working my way through Daughters of Rome.

Once Upon A Read-a-thon Pre-Update

Once Upon a Read-a-Thon
Just a few hours away from starting the Once Upon a Read-a-thon hosted by Lori at Pure Imagination, Candace at Candace's Book Blog, and Angela at Reading Angel.

This will be the third read-a-thon that I take part in this year, so far I've gone 6 hours and 24 hours. Truth I crashed after 90 minutes during the 6 hours, little tip always make time to eat. I didn't do it on purpose though I was in a situation where I couldn't get food, so I figured reading would take my mind off it, of course it didn't.

Then the 24 hours might have been more like 19.

Secret Summer Santa Thanks

Ruby's Reads
A few months ago I got an email from Ruby's Reads inviting me to join in a Secret Santa Book Exchange; now I have to confess this year I've entered so many giveaways on so many awesome blogs that I really can't keep track of where I've been. I'm getting better at it though writing this blog has actually helped me be a more faithful follower to a handful of blogs. They have to get my attention, which truthfully isn't that hard a thing to do with me, that's why I don't want to make following this blog mandatory for giveaway entries (July Summer Giveaway Hop still going on hint hint no follow required wink wink) it's not the quantity that matters but the quality.

July Summer Giveaway Hop

July Giveaway Hop logo

Welcome to the July Summer Giveaway Hop hosted by Leetid's Reading. Last I checked there were only six blogs participating and I'm #3; so hey you're half way there!

Not only is this my first hop but it's my first giveaway! Yay! Play that fanfare!
