Dusty Reads (6)

Dusty Reads is a weekly meme hosted by Xpresso Reads, featuring a book that has been sitting unread on a home shelf for some time.

Privileged by Zoey Dean (previously published as How To Teach Filthy Rich Girls)

THGReadAThon Part I “The Tributes”

When I signed up for this read-a-thon my main plan was to buy the actual book, seeing as how I have a Nook you would think I'd have done that by now. But no. Not really sure why I haven't, but here I am listening to the audiobook once again. I knew this while listening to it the first time around, but I really think I'd enjoy it more if I was actually reading it and it wasn't someone's voice I was hearing.
So far I've come to the conclusion that I originally gave The Hunger Games 4 stars because it has:
1) Too many flashbacks
2) Too much talk about food (although I do get it)
3) Just too much talking in general

I'm also starting to think that I'm going Team Gale.

Top Ten Books I'd Give A Song To

Top Ten Tuesdays is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish.

As I've mentioned multiple times before music inspired me and is a big part in a lot of things that I do. Whenever I would finish a book I would always think of a song that would be appropriate for it. I loved picking songs for books, that is until I noticed that right after I read a book the movie would be announced shortly after. Their song choices ruined mine.
So I'm somewhat rusty when it comes to picking the songs and books for this list:

It's Monday. What are you Reading?

It's Monday. What are you Reading? is a weekly meme hosted by Book Journey where we share what we have been reading and what we plan to read this week.

I try joining this meme every other week but apparently it's been a little more then a month since I have. I guess I haven't wanted to be repetitive.

The Hunger Games Read-A-Thon

I think I've done a pretty good job hiding my anticipation for the upcoming Hunger Games movie, at least on here. Anywhere else I have a feeling I've been getting a tad bit annoying. I'm not sure who makes me talk about it more; people who have read it or the people who have never even heard of it.

Love-a-thon Challenge #3

Mini Challenge #3 Make up a mini post telling us about your book blogging experience so far! The highs, the lows, and everything in between! What made you want to start book blogging? What made you decided to STICK WITH IT when you realized how hard it can be? How has being part of this book blogging community affected you?

Hmm. my book blogging experience so far... I don't really know what to say about it. I'll be going on 10 months next week and it does not feel like it; sometimes when I tell people about it I still say I'm starting out. Then I remember oh yeah I'm not really. Although I guess I sort of am, I'm still learning anyway. Still learning that I really need to put myself out there, still learning to devote myself to being more consistent with my postings, still learning that I do not need Dr Pepper to assist me when I write.

Blogs I Love

Here are just a few of my favorite blogs, where I find the greatest read-a-thons, challenges and reviews:

Castle Macabre
Reading with Martinis
My Shelf Confessions
Bitten by Paranormal Romance
Jess Resides Here
Life is Short. Read Fast.
Forgotten Bookmarks
Quill Cafe
The Worm Hole
Word Spelunking

It's not a book blog but it's still really cool:

Days of Vegeance

Days of Vengeance (a paranormal horror novel)Days of Vengeance

While struggling to remember his wife and the events surrounding her disappearance, Frank is shocked to find out that Kelly's family has the same suspicions as he does.
As his memories trickle back to him, Frank is still unable to figure out why he has slaughtered his wife. Things take a darker turn when the in-laws give him to understand that they will stop at nothing to make him remember what he has done to their beloved sister.

Book Blogger Love-a-thon

Hi everybody!
I just wanted to thank Katelyn @ Kate's Tales of Books and Bands for coming up with this great idea; and all my fellow love-a-thoners for dropping by, as well as all my other readers. I haven't done that much to get my blog out there so my followers mean a lot.

So thanks again I hope you like my blog and find some awesome new ones, I can't wait to find some myself.

Books That Broke My Heart A Little

I'm kind of a Grinch so my little heart doesn't break that easily, so I was only able to come up with 8. To tell the truth that's a few more than I expected.

"To Do" #4 - Whale Watching

This is a list of things to do in my life. I'm making it because I'm big on life experiences.

But these aren't life goals, those are actually important to accomplish. These are things I'd like to experience in my life, however small, although very few actually are.
The items on this list are not in any specific order.

Book Blogger Love-A-Thon

What is a Love-A-Thon, you may ask? It is quite similar to a Read-A-Thon but instead of reading books for an extended period of time, you will be spreading the love to bloggers all over! I am still working out a lot of minor details but here’s what I hope to accomplish with this love-fest:

Wicked Winter Read-a-thon

Because I haven't gotten over last weekend's read-a-thon. Thanks to host Kindle Fever and My Shelf Confessions.
This Read-A-Thon is going on from February 3rd till the 5th.

Project Tell Taylor

Michelle Madow's debut novel Remembrance was inspired by Taylor Swift's "Love Story" music video. She talked all about it in a blog entry a few months ago, discussing how Remembrance was inspired by Taylor Swift's "Love Story" music video. She even wrote a letter to Taylor Swift and sent it to her, along with a signed book!
