"Drama" Moment

I'd like to interrupt our regularly scheduled posting for a very "Drama" moment.

My name is Little Miss Drama QUEEN!!!

Not Little Drama Queen, not Little Miss Drama, and NOT Little Drama GIRL!

Seriously? Is it really too hard to keep track of?

Come on, as writers we should know to always double check what we write. Whenever I mention someone I always make sure I've got the name right.
Sometimes I'll even copy and paste so I'm sure it's 100 percent.

Spring into Horror Wrap-Up

Pages read since last update: 86
Total Pages read: 526

I'm calling it a day (or week?) for this read-a-thon. I got to spend the day yesterday finishing up Abandon but things didn't end the way I had planned.

At best I probably could have also finished Elixir and gotten through Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, if I hadn't lost that day.

And of course I lost it for the stupidest reason possible. It totally ruined the flow. But I'm good with my results... more or less. Lets bring on the next read-a-thon!
Which I guess if I don't find one will be the Meg Cabot read-a-thon in less than two months.
Wow, that is not long at all. We're closing in people!

Spring Into Horror Day 6

“How incredibly far our lives drift from where we knew with all certainty they would go. How little today resembles what yesterday thought it would look like.” ― Jim Beaver, Life's That Way: A Memoir

That quote seems to perfectly describe everything that's occurred after my last update.

Lesson learned: Don't plan!

Pages read since last update: 179
Pages read so far: 434

Finished Abandon.

The Annihilation of Foreverland - Review

My rating: 3 of 5 stars
Published December 31st 2011

When kids awake on an island, they’re told there was an accident. Before they can go home, they will visit Foreverland, an alternate reality that will heal their minds.
Reed dreams of a girl that tells him to resist Foreverland. He doesn’t remember her name, but knows he once loved her. He’ll have to endure great suffering and trust his dream. And trust he’s not insane.
Danny Boy, the new arrival, meets Reed’s dream girl inside Foreverland. She’s stuck in the fantasy land that no kid can resist. Where every heart’s desire is satisfied. Why should anyone care how Foreverland works?
Together, they discover what it’s really doing to them.

Spring Into Horror Day 4

Pages Read Since Last Update: 63
Pages Read So Far: 255

From the looks of it I won't be able to read Strangers on a Train this week. It's too bad, I was really looking forward to it; but I'm already midway through two and didn't want to start a third (you want to get technical it would have been fourth.)I'll just have to wait a few more weeks.

Plan for the rest of the read-a-thon: Finish Abandon on Friday. Read The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde Saturday. Then finish Elixir and if there's time (probably not) start The Vampire Diaries: Awakening.

Spring Into Horror Day 3

Set up the new background. I know some of the sidebar is transparent, I'm still working on adjusting colors. Although I'm pretty sure that's what I said when I chose the last background.

Pages Read Since Last Update: 45
Pages Read So Far: 192

I haven't gotten to read as much today, but 192 pages in this short amount of time is good to me. Yet another reason I love Meg Cabot, her books are so quick and easy to work through.

Spring Into Horror Day 2

Pages read: 147

Fellow Meg-a-readers look away because I'm about to confess that I'm barely getting to Abandon. Oh, I really should have spaced that warning with the confession. Oh well, now you know that I'm hosting a celebration to a sequel of a book I haven't even read. And don't get me started on the Heather Welles mysteries... well maybe you should.

Spring Into Horror Read-a-thon

Is there such a thing as too many read-a-thons?
I didn't think so.

If there were that would mean one reads too much, and there's definitely no such thing as that.

As for myself I really didn't get enough reading from Saturday's read-a-thon. I did finish Speak. After that it was kind of hard to continue. Pages Read: 240

So lets bring on the Spring Into Horror Read-a-Thon!

Sunday, April 22, 2012

Looks like I'm getting a new background. By one vote the flower petals have won.
A part of me feels like I should hold another vote just to be sure.
That part is mainly my lazy one who doesn't feel like changing things.
Look for the makeover soon; judging by my past week we'll have to see when I become inspired to actually do anything.

We also have not one but three winners for the blogaversery giveaway. Didn't quite make it to 200 followers, so they'll be getting their choice of prequels.

Winners are:

Read-a-thon Hour 13 (So I'm Told)

Really 13 hours?
I love posting things and watching the time go by on them.

Posted: 10 minutes ago
Posted: 1 hour, 30 minutes ago
Posted 5 hours ago.

For someone who doesn't like to see time go by I sure do.

It's actually not my 13th hour. Unfortunately my morning started pretty slow, so I had to cross off Beowulf from my list. I was hoping to make it up with The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, but forgot to take it with me when I left the house. So had to cross that off.

Then it took me a while to get back, so much so that I almost backed down, but that is not me.

1 Year "Postaversery"

A year ago today my first ever post went live.
A part of me really wants to say it.

Let that be my blogversery gift to myself.

Dewey's 24 Hour Read-A-Thon

Can't say how often I'll be posting. Last year I stopped, maybe once?

This time it's going to be kind of interesting since I've been losing a lot of sleep lately.
My bet: I crash around 11pm, but will then be woken up again at 12 where I will attempt to continue.

What I'll be reading:

Friday, April 20, 2012

This is the one post I was looking forward to this week and I just don't want to write it.
It is just way to hot, even more so with the computer running. Not sure why I don't just use my laptop, mostly because it takes me forever to write and I tend to wander around. Both the house and the web.

What makes it even worse, is that I'm not allowed to touch the air conditioner so my room is about 85 degrees right now.
Oh, no it just went up one; so 86.

Today lets look back on some of the random things I've written.

We could always start with the time I shared my Prince William dream.

There was my discovery of The Hunger Games. And my growing obsession for it. Which grew and grew some more. And when I confessed my love to Catching Fire.
Then of course there was my review for Remembrance which almost came out as a love letter.

Tune In Tuesday

Tune In Tuesday is a fun weekly post hosted by Ginger at GReads.

I've always said that music is a huge thing for me. And looking back I've realized that you can learn a lot about me from my picks.

Such as: at times I might open up a wee bit too much. That's a rare one for me since shortly after I start wondering who will be reading and what will they think.

Top Ten Tips For New Book Bloggers

Top Ten Tuesdays is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish.

What a perfect top 10 topic for this week since I happen to be celebrating my one year blogaversery. Which is actually the main reason I joined in this week, since I normally do these posts every other week.

Lets see what wise advice can I give to the newcomers. I guess I can always start with the advice that was given to me when I first started...

Thoughtfull Thoughts

So I never explained the purpose of these thought"filled" thoughts. I recently changed the title since I realized someone might say one of my comments is actually pretty thoughtless of me.

A good example would be my first "thought" Female Authors vs Male Authors, in which I say I prefer reading books written by women, now someone who saw that and then read my reviews might say "Hey if you don't like the way men write, why do you keep agreeing to review their books?"

Well the answer to that is: 1. I really don't know what makes me choose the books I review (more on that later this week) and 2. Andy Gavin's The Darkening Dream, the first book offered to me for review that I gave 5 stars to. Just because I prefer one thing doesn't mean I'm going to ignore the other, imagine what I'd miss out on.

1 Year Blogaversery

That's right a year ago this week I created Little Miss Drama Queen. Unfortunately I don't remember the exact date since I'm pretty sure my first post, which went up the 21st, took me a few days to write.

But that's alright, because why should I celebrate just the one day when I can have the entire week?

Oh yeah, I'm so breaking out the fanfare this week.

A Story of the West

A Story of the WestA Story of the West
by Susan Spence
Published June 1st 2009 by

Matt Daly arrives in Montana Territory with his father John in 1880, eager to begin his life as a cattle rancher.
He thinks life will be hard but simple. However, things get complicated quickly.
First, Matt falls in love when he meets Lavina Lavold, a young woman who has journeyed west with her family from Illinois. She shares his zest for life, and it doesn't hurt that she's very attractive. But it's not clear if the family is just passing through or if they will settle there.
Then there are rustlers who steal cattle on the vast prairie. Though it's dangerous, Matt joins a band of ranchers intent on capturing and punishing the criminals.
Bully Buehler, a neighboring rancher only concerned with profit, causes the most trouble. He thinks the Daly ranch would be an attractive addition to his land holdings, and he's ready to try to take it.
Join Matt as he pursues love and adventure and in "A Story of the West."

Top Ten Books That Were Totally Deceiving

Top Ten Tuesdays is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish.

Lets talk disappointments!
I have been deceived by plenty but maybe just six books. At least that I could come up with.
Sometimes Ill be attracted to books by their covers, yes I've judged them. But most of the time I choose based on descriptions.

And yeah I'll usually end up pretty mad at them and yes feeling deceived.

It's Monday, What Are You Reading?

It's Monday. What are you Reading? is a weekly meme hosted by Book Journey where we share what we have been reading and what we plan to read this week.

Yesterday I found out one of the worst possible things a reader can find out. Coming up in two weeks is the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books, of course I'm planning on going for a second time, my first was when I met Meg Cabot (find out more about that next month during the Meg-A Readers blog hop.)
But then I realized that it's the same weekend as the 24 hour read-a-thon.
