FrightFall Read-a-thon

It's been too long since I've really joined in on a read-a-thon, but now with the start of a new season I feel like it's time for a new beginning and that I'll really be able to get back to focusing on what I want to read.

Meg-a-Readers Finale

It's the second to last day of Meg-a-Readers. Oh my gods, was not the colorful phrase I yelled out when I realized it. I thought I had another week!
And here I was about to go out of town this weekend.

There will be a very special post, featuring Meg Cabot and the questions you all summited for her tomorrow. So be sure to check that out!
But for today, I'd like to throw out my final words.

Quotable Quotes - Heather Welles

This our final week of Meg-a-Readers I give you quotes from the Heather Welles series.

“So go ahead and make your way
Back from the edge of yesterday
No one knows what Can't be known
'Cause when you start You're all alone
But take enough steps
Take enough steps
Take enough steps
And someday
Someday you'll be home

The Bride Wore Size 12 (Heather Welles #5) - Review

The Bride Wore Size 12 (Heather Wells #5)The Bride Wore Size 12 (Heather Welles #5) by Meg Cabot
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Published: September 24th 2013 by William Morrow Paperbacks

Heather Wells is used to having her cake and eating it too, but this time her cake just might be cooked. Her wedding cake, that is.

With her upcoming nuptials to PI Cooper Cartwright only weeks away, Heather's already stressed. And when a pretty junior turns up dead, Heather's sure things can't get worse—until every student in the dorm where she works is a possible suspect, and Heather's long-lost mother shows up.

Heather has no time for a tearful mother and bride reunion. She has a wedding to pull off and a murder to solve. Instead of wedding bells, she might be hearing wedding bullets, but she's determined to bring the bad guys to justice if it's the last thing she does . . . and this time, it just might be.

Summer of 2003, the Summer of My "Awakening"

Last year for my opening Meg-a-Readers post I mentioned that I first read The Princess Diaries the summer I was 13, which was in 2003. And I realized that not only did I discover The Princess Diaries, and to some extent Meg Cabot (although I didn't really acknowledge her until maybe a few months later) that summer but I discover a lot of things that probably made me who I am today and changed my way of doing things.
That sounds so deep, but chances are when I'm done I'll sound shallow.

Anyway that post last year inspired me to start planning a post for this summer. And 'm sure I even mentioned it earlier this summer.

Tune In Tuesday - Johnny Cash

Tune In Tuesday Cover Edition

So a few days ago a little voice in my head told me I should share some covers of Johnny Cash songs on this week's Tune In post.
I'm not sure why, I don't normally plan ahead for my posts, if I did they'd probably be a lot more frequent. Normally I just share whatever's been stuck in my head that week, but, for some reason, this week a voice told me what to post. Which -as weird as my listening to the voices in my head sounds- is probably a good thing since I don't know what song I would have picked.

Stacking the Shelves [11]

Note to anyone waiting for a book they sent me to be review, I am not slowing down my review process, but I'm also in no way rushing to get to them. This weekend I had a "moment to breath" and realized that I'm going to take my time (unless I actually set a post date of course) because this Summer just felt thrown together and rushed . Which is all me and circumstances thrown at me more than anything. Really it is me not you. There probably won't be an obvious difference on my posting reviews here, since I usually go up every two weeks anyway but just in case, know we'll get there when we get there.
Now on to our semi-regularly scheduled post:

Belonging - Review + Giveaway!

Belonging (Temptation, #2)Belonging by Karen Ann Hopkins
My rating: 3.5 of 5 stars
Published April 30th 2013 by Harlequin TEEN

I left everything I knew behind.

But it was worth it. He was worth it.

No one thought an ordinary girl like me would last two minutes living with the Amish, not even me. There are a lot more rules and a lot less freedom, and I miss my family and the life I once had. Worst of all, Noah and I aren't even allowed to see each other. Not until I've proven myself.

If I can find a way to make it work, we'll be NOAH & ROSE together forever.

But not everybody believes this is where I belong.

Meg-a-Readers Week 10 & 11

I'm back! I was out of town last week so I wasn't able to get a post up, and really it's somewhat of a surprise that I'm here now since I ended up sick this week.
Funny isn't it? Last Wednesday I was wandering around Las Vegas and this Wednesday I was sick in bed.

Top Ten Books I Would Love To See As A Movie/TV Show

I'm going to try and not mention books I named the last time I did this list, but no promises.
Some books just really need to be put on screen.

Tune In Tuesday

Tune In Tuesday Cover Edition

Apparently last week's cover song wasn't playable, clearly I didn't double check that one. Sorry about that, trust me though it's a great cover.
Fingers crossed this week's work, or I'm going back to videos for my next post.

Temptation - Review

Temptation (Temptation, #1)Temptation by Karen Ann Hopkins
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Published June 26th 2012 by Harlequin Teen

Your heart misleads you.
That's what my friends and family say.
But I love Noah.
And he loves me.
We met and fell in love in the sleepy farming community of Meadowview, while we rode our horses together through the grassy fields and in those moments in each other's arms.
It should be

forever, easy.
But it won't be.

Because he's Amish.
And I'm not.

Quotable Quotes - Meg-a-Readers Edition

“I realized that life is so short: Why waste one minute of it worrying what other people think or say about you, or what score you got on some test? Why not believe what you want to believe, and do what you love?”

Tune In Tuesday - Flying Away

Tune In Tuesday Cover Edition

Since I'm getting on a plane in a few hours, which is the reason I've been so distracted "stressed" these last couple of weeks, I figured I should share some songs that go though my mind while flying.

Because I do have a set of songs that go though my mind when I'm getting away. I love flying, I've actually had people try and make me nervous (great folks, right?) but no. It's one of my favorite things.
