My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Publication: November 26th 2013 by Harlequin TEEN

For Kitty Doe, it seems like an easy choice. She can either spend her life as a III in misery, looked down upon by the higher ranks and forced to leave the people she loves, or she can become a VII and join the most powerful family in the country.

Distraught at the loss of her friend, Claudia's dreams become tumultuous, and through them she mysteriously travels to another world called Crossroads. There, she unexpectedly meets Michael, a nephilim--half angel, half human. It turns out that this isn't her first visit, which is an enigma, for she has no recollection of being there, and is told that no human has crossed over...until Claudia. Now that she's been there, fallen and demons are after her, suspecting she must be special, and it is up to Michael and the other nephilim to protect her. Her dream becomes a nightmare as more secrets are revealed about who she really is, and the true identities of the people she loves most. The situation becomes even more complicated when she is unable to hinder her feelings for her swoon-worthy guardian angel. Can Michael fight his growing feelings for Claudia and protect her as a guardian angel should, or will he be too blinded by human emotions and the struggles of being who he is?

Eternal Destiny - Review

Eternal DestinyEternal Destiny by Tahlia Newland
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Published October 7th 2013 by Catapult Press

Intrepid traveler Ariel Malony and demon slayer Nick Walker face their deepest fears and their greatest challenge as they search for the Master Demon who holds the key to the future of mankind. Slay him and the world goes free; fail, and it falls irrevocably into violence and chaos.

Guided by a wisdom master of a mystical tradition that uses mind power as the basis of powerful magic, the assault party, including Kestril, the Magan Chiefs' son, Layla, the flying Noble One, and Twitchet, the talking cat, must travel from the ancient granite walls of the Hermitage, up the kilometer high Steps of Death, and through a labyrinth of shifting gorges to the Palace of Skulls where flesh-eating demons demand to be fed. Even if Nick wins his struggle with the scars of his past and defeats the green-eyed head of the Cogin clan, they still must cross the scree slope, where the bones of Ariel's father lie, and pass through the territory of vicious elementals to get to the ice caves beneath the summit where the Master Demon awaits.

The journey is extraordinary, the enemies are deadly and the ending is mind-blowing.

Tune In Tuesday - 90's [Movie] Edition

Tune In Tuesday 90s Edition
This week I wanted to feature songs from some of my favorite movies of the 90's. But the only one I could think of was 10 Things I Hate About You.
That's the problem with watching so many old movies; I can name so few that are actually from my "own time."

Stacking the Shelves [12]

A funny thing happened to me about a month after my last Stacking the Shelves post, I went to an event at the library.
Where I had a somewhat awkward encounter with author Lindsey Leavitt, well maybe just awkward to me.
It was while I was eating lunch with my mom, and I saw her {Lindsey Leavitt} eating lunch with her daughter. I had no idea who she was, but I kind of started wondering if maybe she was an author.
Then I got in a fight with a trash can because my napkin wouldn't go in, and my mom dropped rice- and walked away to get something to drink- which pretty much invited all the pigeons to swoop in on me, which made me yell at my mom when she got back.
Now that I write that down I can understand why Lindsey would give me the look she gave me.

Saturday Snapshot [11]

For more Saturday Snapshots see West Metro Mommy

I have really let this blog down this year when it comes to consisten postings. At the moment the best I can say is, at least I've met my deadlines.
It's been a year since I said I was going to share my pictures from my trip to Italy. It was a two week trip and I never even finished.
Really I don't know what happened everything kind of fell apart after May. Which, more or less, makes sense if you've heard how bad my summer was.

But one good thing did happen to me in July.

Covers I Wish I Could Redesign

This is both a great and slightly awkward top ten for me. Great because I'm a designer so I'm always looking at things like that. I've even practiced on some book covers.
And awkward because well I'm a designer and one day it might be my design you list for redesign.

Tune In Tuesday - Boy Bands!

Tune In Tuesday 90s Edition
There's a totally random reason for this week's picks.
On Saturday I went to a Christmas tree lighting, and performing there, other than Mark Ballas and a few other people I'd never heard of, was Jesse McCartney. And obviously he was early 2000's but my mom kept asking me if he had a brother.
Long story short, but trust me not as long as that show, I later figured out she had him confused with Aaron Carter.
Who was also way early 2000's, so I've decided to break out Nick Carter and boy bands instead.

Ethan - Review

Ethan (Brightest Kind of Darkness, #0.5)Ethan (Brightest Kind of Darkness, #0.5)  by P.T. Michelle
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Published January 11th 2013 by Patrice Michelle

Ethan Harris never thought monsters and darkness would consume his daily thoughts, but every night the same visions repeat in his dreams. He’s careful to project a semblance of normalcy, keeping the suffocating darkness locked inside. As much as he wishes he could focus on girls, sports, and cars like other seventeen-year-olds; nothing distracts him from his own demons or shines through.

Until Nara Collins crosses his path. The blonde fascinates and intrigues him, giving him a measure of peace he’s never felt before.

Audiobook Challenge 3rd Quarter

I totally missed the second quarter of this! I might have had a perfectly good reason for missing it. It was summer so I was mentally shut down, I sort of gave up on the other challenges I started- although I think I can finish them if I really try- or maybe I just forgot.

Quotable Quotes - Live

This week's quotes were inspired by last week's thought-filled thought: Running Away with the Doctor. In which I pretty much went on about how life should be exciting, and a story worth telling.
Which is an on going topic with me on here.

Tune In Tuesday - 90's Edition

Tune In Tuesday 90s Edition
So much has gone through my mind since I found out that this month's Tune In theme would be the 90's. I am a child of the 90's -I always joke that I waited a month to make sure the 80's were really over. So yay I get to go back, even though I usually don't want to.  And hopefully it'll encourage me to try out a new feature that I've been thinking about since I started this blog almost three years ago.
And the options! We're gonna need more than a month. Although if I actually follow though with my new feature that really won't be a problem.
