Tune In Tuesday

These last few weeks I've been listening to a lot of music I listened to 5 years ago, 2008, the year I graduated high school, or more popularly known as the year I "took up" country music.
Since they were the first country songs I paid attention to - well not really I'd been paying attention to the genre for five years prior to that, they're more like the songs that had me falling for the genre- I was kind of surprised that I had all but forgotten them.

Stacking the Shelves [10]

Once again I had the realization that I have way too many books waiting to be read.
I'm the type of girl that checks out a couple of books at the library and still stops by the used book store to see what they have.
Surprisingly this month I only got one new book.
But then this morning I got 3 new books to review. Just when I was starting to relax and think it was time to get more.

Historical Fiction Reading Challenge Update

I can't believe I haven't done any updates for any challenges. That's not true, I'm not all that surprised, the only reason I updated the audiobook challenge was because I got an email reminding me.
For today I'm updating the Historical Fiction Challenge, I'll save the TBR Challenge for next month.

Haven't spent too much time with the genre, unlike previous years. But I am halfway to my goal of 10.

Historical fictions read this year:

Katie Lennox wishes her parents were still alive. Having to leave Boston to live with Grandma Cleaves in London was hard, but she's making new friends, working on her British accent and even learning some Cockney rhyming slang.
London's cool and actually feels like home in some ways, like she's been here before, belongs here. When a museum visit with her cousin and his cute friend turns funky, Katie finds herself in a long, uncomfortable dress, wearing a ridiculous hat, wondering what happened to her jeans and high-top sneakers?
And where's her iPhone?... It's London, 1888. Smart and gutsy, Katie knows she's here to stop Jack the Ripper. The serial killer didn't just slash his victims' throats; he butchered the women. Katie has read about the Ripper, knows the names of his victims and where and when they were killed. She's watched her fair share of CSI.
Can Katie save their lives?

Still (not so) "Vintage" and Still Have that Giveaway

I started this odd experiment about a month and a half ago, and so far I've only updated twice. And I still have a month to go
Now that could mean one of two things. One I've done so great giving up technology that I haven't even want to update here or there hasn't been much too say.
Well it's a little of both.

Tune In Tuesday - Gigi

Tune In TuesdayFrom now on I'm going to start all my post with "So much for writing more."
A few months ago I went on about how I was going to write more, everything I wanted to post would be up by a certain time.
That lasted two, three weeks?

Because of that I'm falling back into my musical phase.
And I thought I was done.

This is both partially because I don't have any other song choices to share and because I was watching it last night.

I promise next time I will put more into it.

It's Monday What Are You Reading?

Since it's been a little more than a month since I last posted (so much for writing more) I'm just going to jump right it in.
Since my last post I've read:
Romeo & Juliet & VampiresRomeo & Juliet & Vampires by Claudia Gabel
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Yeah I was never that big a fan of Romeo and Juliet.
Maybe a low 4 because the twisty twist was kind of interesting.

Someday, Someday, Maybe - Review

Someday, Someday, MaybeSomeday, Someday, Maybe by Lauren Graham
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
Published: April 30th 2013 by Ballantine Books

It’s January 1995, and Franny Banks has just six months left of the three-year deadline she set for herself when she came to New York, dreaming of Broadway and doing “important” work. But all she has to show for her efforts so far is a part in an ad for ugly Christmas sweaters, and a gig waiting tables at a comedy club. Her roommates―her best friend Jane, and Dan, an aspiring sci-fi writer―are supportive, yet Franny knows a two-person fan club doesn’t exactly count as success. Everyone tells her she needs a backup plan, and though she can almost picture moving back home and settling down with her perfectly nice ex-boyfriend, she’s not ready to give up on her goal of having a career like her idols Diane Keaton and Meryl Streep. Not just yet. But while she dreams of filling their shoes, in the meantime, she’d happily settle for a speaking part in almost anything—and finding a hair product combination that works.
