Meg Cabot Day Twitter Party!

Tomorrow is Meg Cabot Day, so as part of the Meg-a-Readers hop we're having a twitter party to celebrate!

All Meg Cabot fans are invited to post why they're fans and why they love Meg throughout the day tomorrow on Twitter using the hashtags: #MegCabot or #becauseofMegCabot.

I say throughout the day because, come on, there's definitely more than one reason. So come and join us tomorrow, I can't wait to see what everyone tweets.

Top Ten Favorite Beginnings In [Meg Cabot] Books

It's a new day, almost a new month and I'm back ready to give that 100 percent I've been promising.

This is a great list for me to come back with since during last year's Meg-a-Readers I decided I wanted to list my favorite beginnings in Meg Cabot books but was never able to get to that list.

So here it is, a year later, my top 10 favorite Meg Cabot beginnings:

Meg-a-Readers Week 4 + Mediator Giveaway

And I'm sick this week, because last week I said my "month long slump" was over and, like I also mentioned last week, my life is kind of Greek so of course the fates had to interfere with that.
Which is why this post is a day late.

Meg-a-Readers Week 3

I am late with this post. Fingers crossed that today is my last day of the - what is now a month? - long slump that has hit me, and I'll be a lot more aware from now on.

Branded - Review

Branded by Abi Ketner &  Missy Kalcicki
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Published June 28th 2013

Twenty years ago the Commander came into power and murdered all who opposed him. In his warped mind, the seven deadliest sins were the downfall of our society. He created the Hole where sinners are branded according to their sins and might survive a few years. At best.
Now LUST wraps around my neck like blue fingers strangling me.   I’ve been accused of a crime I didn’t commit and now the Hole is my new home.
Darkness. Death. Violence. Pain.
Now, every day is a fight for survival. But I won’t die. I won’t let them win.
The Hole can’t keep me. The Hole can’t break me.
I am more than my brand. I’m a fighter.
My name is Lexi Hamilton, and this is my story.

Meg-a-Readers Week 2 + Grand Prize[s]

Week 2 of Meg-a-Readers was somewhat of a slow one, at least for me - should I not have admitted to that?- I promise just give me one more week and I'll totally bring out my A game.

Until then let's talk Grand Prize (s)!

Tune in Tuesday - Super Girl

Abandon & Underworld Giveaway.

A part of me kind of wants to check out for the next week and a half, so if I stop posting that's what happened.
Don't worry though I'll be back in time for the next giveaway.

But since last week I did promise I was going to have a Meg-a-Readers inspired post here we are.

Once Upon a Read-a-thon Goal

It's been a while since I've joined a read-a-thon, and I definitely want to get back to reading. Last month I only finished 3 books, and they were all at the end of the month so I was getting a little discouraged mid-June.

The Once Upon a Read-a-thon is kind of special to me, since it was the first read-a-thon I joined as a blogger, because of that I'm hoping to get a lot of reading done.

Underworld Read-a-long

I had originally planned to start the read-a-long for Underworld, the second book in the Abandon trilogy, today but while getting everything ready I realized I was having a hard time separating what happened in which book.

My own fault since I read both Abandon and Underworld within a few days together, so of course a year later everything has kind of gotten together.

So for today I thought it'd be best to have a quick recap of Abandon.

Spoilers ahead for anyone who has not read Abandon.

Meg-a-Readers Week 1 + Giveaway

I was so excited for the start of Meg-a-readers that I almost forgot about our first giveaway, I promise this will, well most likely happen again, but I'll try to make sure it doesn't. Bear with me these couple of weeks everything's kind of everywhere.

But here it is now!

Tune in Tuesday - Dream a Little Dream

Seeing as how today is the first day of this year's Meg-a-Readers, I had originally planned to share a song that would fit with the occasion.
But I'm going to save that for next week.

I know, I'm a tease.

Meg-a-Readers Take 2

You know what I haven't called for in a long time? Well since last year's blogoversery.
A fanfare!

It's here after months and months of...waiting.

Awaken (Abandon #3) - Review

Awaken (Abandon Trilogy, #3)Awaken by Meg Cabot
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Published: July 2nd 2013 by Point

Death has her in his clutches. She doesn’t want him to let go.

Seventeen-year-old Pierce Oliviera knew by accepting the love of John Hayden, she’d be forced to live forever in the one place she’s always dreaded most: the Underworld. The sacrifice seemed worth it, though, because it meant she could be with the boy she loves.

But now her happiness — and safety — are threatened, all because the Furies have discovered that John has broken one of their strictest rules: He revived a human soul.

If the balance between life and death isn’t fixed, both the Underworld and Pierce’s home back on earth will be wiped away. But there’s only one way to restore order. Someone has to die.

From #1 New York Times bestselling author Meg Cabot, the dark reimagining of the Persephone myth comes to a thrilling conclusion.
