Tune In Tuesday - Walk This Way

I woke up literally singing this song, so if that's not a sign to share it I don't know what is.

But of course when do I ever simply pick the original to share.

Running Away with the Doctor

Here's something I haven't done in a while, gone off on a thought-filled thought. This is actually a thought that has been going through my mind for years in some form or other, I've most likely even mentioned it before. But it came back yesterday thanks to the book I was currently reading (won't say which, I'll save those praises for the review). And also Doctor Who.

Doctor Who mainly comes into the subject when my cousin -who may or may not be a fan, I really don't know- brings up our never ending discussion on the Doctors companions.

The Fantasy Project: 101 Books in 10 Years

For information on The Fantasy Project visit http://101fantasychallenge.blogspot.com/.
I was invited to join this challenge at the end of the summer, and instantly knew I wanted to join. 10 years. I can do long term. Probably.
I set up my list but decided to wait until October to post my start post since I wanted to let things settle down both the summer and Meg-a-Readers which was coming to an end at the time.
But somehow October got away from me, well almost, I wanted to post on the first.
And because of my procrastination in the two months that passed I ended up reading, maybe 5 books in that list.
Darn!
I'd say lesson learned, but no. Not at all.
Oh well!

Children of the Knight

Children of the KnightChildren of the Knight

According to legend, King Arthur is supposed to return when Britain needs him most. So why does a man claiming to be the once and future king suddenly appear in Los Angeles?
This charismatic young Arthur creates a new Camelot within the City of Angels to lead a crusade of unwanted kids against an adult society that discards and ignores them. Under his banner of equality, every needy child is welcome, regardless of race, creed, sexual orientation, or gang affiliation.
With the help of his amazing First Knight, homeless fourteen-year-old Lance, Arthur transforms this ragtag band of rejected children and teens into a well-trained army—the Children of the Knight. Through his intervention, they win the hearts and minds of the populace at large, and gain a truer understanding of themselves and their worth to society. But seeking more rights for kids pits Arthur and the children squarely against the rich, the influential, and the self-satisfied politicians who want nothing more than to maintain the status quo.
Can right truly overcome might? Arthur’s hopeful young knights are about to find out, and the City of Angels will never be the same.

Little Bird - Review + Giveaway

Little Bird by Liza Gaines
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Published August 16th 2013 by Musa Publishing

In his bonds, she learns to soar.

Lee Jackson is bad news for a girl like Savannah Alderton. At least, that’s what everyone keeps telling her when her boss tasks her with assisting Lee in the search for his missing ex-wife. But despite all the warnings and Lee’s overbearing attitude, she’s attracted to him from the start. Wanting more than the casual sex he readily offers, Savannah fears she is bound to get hurt. Can she take that risk?

Wonderfully Wicked Read-a-thon Update

I'm not sure what day it is. Both for the read-a-thon and the week.
It's been one of those weeks.
And by which I mean one of those weeks when I bury myself in books and don't know what else is going on.
This usually results in pretty awesome dreams, but I'm not so sure this time around.

I have no idea how many pages I've read. I do know I hit about 160 in two days but besides that, no clue.
But I do know I finished two books. One of which needs a review for tomorrow morning that should be getting written right now.
I'm hoping to finish another book tomorrow or Saturday but chances are just as I'm getting into it I'll get called in to work.
Or worse I'll be so worried about being called I won't let myself read too much for fear of getting caught up.

Tune In Tuesday

Alright I need to do this quickly because at the moment I am very easily distracted.
Oh look something sparkly!
What was I doing?
Right music, which I have not shared in maybe three weeks. Which sucks because I actually had ideas of what to share.

Double Read-a-thon!

I'm not only joining the 24 hour read-a-thon today but I'm also a part of the Wonderfully Wicked Read-A-Thon this week.
That's allowed right?
My joining two read-a-thons (three if you count the Insurgent Read-a-thon this week too,) is a perfect example of how I've been over scheduling myself when it comes to books.
I'd love to say I plan to slow down these next few months but that's just a hope I have. Reading is the one thing I can't slow myself down with, because if I slow it might as will be stopping. At least it feels that way.

My best goal with these read-a-thons is to lower my currently reading list of 6 to at least 2. But preferably 1.

Other than Insurgent, which I have been reading since the last read-a-thon, last week, I'll be working on:

Remembering Joy - Book Tour

Alexis doesn’t believe in fairytales. She knows first hand that life can turn on a dime – that one stupid mistake can shatter dreams and irrevocably shape the future. Even though her memory of that day is hazy, she has spent the last ten years trying to put it behind her and focus on the future.

Armed with the knowledge that her career will be her only legacy, Alexis works night and day to prove that she is more than just her last name. It’s not only that she doesn’t have time for love – she doesn’t have the heart for it. After all, there’s no point in starting something that you can’t finish.

However, when she meets Adam, she’s drawn to him in a way even she can’t deny. He is dark and brooding and strangely charming. He’s the perfect distraction from the mundane life she’s created for herself. And, as if fate is pushing them together, he seems to be around every corner. It’s enough to almost make her entirely forget about her past and take a chance.

Unfortunately, Adam’s memory isn’t hazy . . . not in the least. And, what she doesn’t remember, he can’t forget.

Quotable Quotes - Shadow Kiss

For this week's quotes I've decided to take some from Shadow Kiss the third in the Vampire Academy series. And by decide I mainly mean those were the first to come up. Normally I have a theme going but couldn't think of anything today.

So I finished Shadow Kiss last week, I was kind of nervous reading it since whenever I mentioned that I was on the third book people would get kind of quiet and give me a knowing smirk. Not cool people!

FrightFall Read-a-thon Day 6/ Wrap Up

Pages read: I'm calling it around 50 a day; so 300? Maybe. That sounds more than it is.

Books finished: 2.
So I guess 300 would/should make sense.

Totally random note: It's super windy and my desk is next to the window so now my keyboard feels dusty. Don't even get me started on the area around it.
So actually it's a good thing I boxed up most of my un-shelved books earlier this week.

FrightFall Read-a-thon Day 3

Pages read: No idea. Let's say more than a few.
Books finished: none yet but I'm very close to finishing Frankenstein and Shadow Kiss, the third Vampire Academy.
And no pushing for me to hurry and finish it, since the only reason I'm not reading it now is because well I'm here.
I was hoping to finish it last night but yesterday was one of those days. You know the type where you think you lost your glasses and then realize you're wearing them.

And my mind is all over the place on a normal day.
I actually did have a moment like that, but it was more I couldn't remember if I put them in my bag. I did.
