Quotable Quotes- Beauty of Life

I'm going to either have to start making more of these pictured quotes or actually start putting some thought into my picks.
As much as I love creating things with quotes and as much as I love sharing them on here, I'm really just phoning it in. I haven't sat down and thought "Alright, what quotes am I going to share this week?" since Valentine's day.

Top 5 Things On My Bookish Bucket List

There's just so many book related things that I would love to do that I'm keeping it at five plus I don't even know where to begin with this list.

No wait I think I actually might:
1) Fill an entire wall with bookshelves.
I know I'll never get a room filled with books so I'll take the wall.

Guest Post & Interview with Author WA Tyson

Can Delilah Percy Powers figure out who killed Miriam Cross before she becomes the killer's next target?
Miriam Cross, author, feminist and philanthropist, disappears from her Philadelphia home. A year later, a lonely recluse named Emily Cray is brutally murdered in her bed in a small Pennsylvania town. Miriam and Emily are one and the same. As Delilah and her staff of female detectives - a militant homemaker, an ex-headmistress and a former stripper - delve into Miriam’s life, they become submerged in an underworld of unfathomable cruelty and greed with implications that go far beyond the gruesome death of one woman or the boundaries of one country. Eventually Miriam’s fight for justice becomes Delilah’s own...until Delilah’s obsession with finding the truth may prove just as deadly.

Not the Suitcase I Thought It Was

Normally I'll be using these post to share bags I've found at thrift stores but today's bag comes from my closet.

It's almost two years since I've started constantly complaining about being stuck in a room with no bookshelves. But have I also mentioned there is no closet and absolutely no empty surfaces?
I can't even describe the situation without getting upset, so I won't.

Tune In Tuesday - Mellow Moments

At the beginning of the year I said I would try to pick songs that fit in with the type of week, or month, I'd been having. I guess I thought I would be super moody or actually have things going on.

Actually last month was pretty moody for me. But, thankfully, we had the Love Song theme so I can't imagine the songs I'd have picked.

Today's post does kind of tie into that though.

Rory - Review

Rory (The Ghosts of Palladino, #1)Rory by Ciye Cho
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Published August 10th 2013

Far beyond heaven, earth and hell is a city known as Palladino, a place ruled by ghosts and filled with demons, magic, and all sorts of darkly beautiful things. A city where no one can ever escape.

Eighteen-year-old Rory is a cake decorator who makes stunning confections. But no amount of frosting or miracles can save her when a demon kidnaps her—and carries her to Palladino. Here, Rory ends up in a deadly charm school where young women are forced to become companions for the Ghost Lords. And for her to survive, Rory must become everything that she isn’t: graceful, elegant... and perfect.

But nothing is what it seems in Palladino. Not the magic. Not the ghosts. And definitely not Martin Marius, the bizarre Ghost Lord-slash-inventor who is drawn to Rory. For amid a thousand machines and a hundred cats, Martin holds a secret that could change everything. A secret that could either free Rory... or destroy her.

Top Ten All Time Favorite Historical Fiction Books

I love history and I can not get enough historical fiction novels. Especially based in Ancient Egypt or Rome and the 1920's.
I also love books by Michelle Moran and Libba Bray if you couldn't tell from this list.

It's Monday! What Are You Reading?

It's been about a month since my last post and I get the feeling I've started more books than I've finished. I'm definitely due for a long read-a-thon.
I did have a couple of sick days to get some reading done, but that could have gone better.

Though now that I look at this post I can't help but notice it has been a pretty good month in books for me.

Love Bites Book Tour

NOT YOUR MAMA’S POLICE PROCEDURAL! A COP STORY WITH BITE… Not to mention sharp, cutting wit. Detective Peter King and movie star Ovsanna Moore are the sexiest tongue-in-cheek crime-solving duo since MOONLIGHTINGhit the air waves in the ‘80s. But they may remind you more of TRUE BLOOD’s Sookie and Eric than Maddie and David—because one of them’s a vampire. And like Sookie’s Bon Temps, their Los Angeles has its fair share of shapeshifting sometime-humans.
