Song[s] of the Moment {12}

This is a feature I've started where I pick a song that represents the week, day or month; that fits with a moment I recently had. Or that's been on repeat.
Since very little happens to me on a weekly basis I only post every two weeks.

I'm really going to need to make a button for this, if only because I've been having such a hard time remembering what I call it.

For my last Song of the Moment I made a joke about being in an "2007 mood" since both songs were from that year.
Well for today's songs we're going to go ahead two years to 2009.
Actually one song is, again, from 2007 and the other is from like the '60s.

But the story and my reason for thinking of them is from 2009.

Senior Year: "Why Bother?"

Senior Year 2007 Part 1

This is the story of the first couple of months of my senior year in high school.
While definitely not a fascinating story, it's something that I would remember every September for years afterwards. Thankfully eight years later now it's all behind me and the only real reminder is that I am who I am today partially because of those few months.
My two main reasons for sharing this is because 1) It happened and 2) I've been wanting to share more of myself here.
This is going to be part journal entries from the time and part me now explaining everything (or at least trying to) .

Everything, Everything - Book Review

Everything, EverythingEverything, Everything by Nicola Yoon
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Published September 1st 2015 by Delacorte Press

My disease is as rare as it is famous. Basically, I’m allergic to the world. I don’t leave my house, have not left my house in seventeen years. The only people I ever see are my mom and my nurse, Carla.

But then one day, a moving truck arrives next door. I look out my window, and I see him. He's tall, lean and wearing all black—black T-shirt, black jeans, black sneakers, and a black knit cap that covers his hair completely. He catches me looking and stares at me. I stare right back. His name is Olly.

Maybe we can’t predict the future, but we can predict some things. For example, I am certainly going to fall in love with Olly. It’s almost certainly going to be a disaster.

It's Monday! What Are You Reading?

1

It's Fall, and even though that really doesn't mean too much here in Southern California, but I've always felt it like a new beginning.
I don't know why since I always get kind of cranky the closer we get to Winter. I blame it on the clothes; they're just not as fun.

Song of the Moment [11]

This is a feature I've started where I pick a song that represents the week, day or month; that fits with a moment I recently had. Or that's been on repeat.
Since very little happens to me on a weekly basis I only post every two weeks.

It's been so long since I've done this post I practically forgot what I called it.

I'd like to hope that the two songs that have been playing in my head these last two weeks are pretty self-explanatory so I'm not going to go into an explanation for them.

Senior Year 2007 Part 1

I've wanted to share this since last year, but I never got to. I don't know if something came up or I just chickened out of it. Seeing as I almost talked myself out of doing it now, it's probably safe to guess which was the real cause.

It's the story of the first couple of months of my senior year in high school.

Something that I've been wanting to do since last year, the beginning of this year and the beginning of the summer. Easier said than done apparently.

A lot better.

Books'n'Bloggers Swap Show Off

So yesterday I walked out into the living room and saw a box.
Actually it was two boxes but apparently the second was filled with spoons, and I was naturally suppose to know that. (Because I had just taken a spoon out of it that morning.)

But onto the other box, which I was told was for me, and then immediately asked what was in it.
Told them plutonium. They did not get my Back to the Future reference. Then the logical person informed them it was books (because what else would it really be?)

And it was!

As Ember struggles with morality, she soon discovers that there’s something more frightening than anything she’s faced before.

Ten Finished Series I Have YET to Finish

http://www.brokeandbookish.com/p/top-ten-tuesday-other-features.html
It's been so long since I've done this!
Both a top ten list AND blog. I have a review due tomorrow so I kind of have to come back.
But it really is time to get back, I let myself get lazy the last couple of months, but now I am definitely feeling determined to do something.

I did this list back in 2012 and from the looks of it, only one series is carrying over.
Mainly because I gave up on the rest. Or am clearly not in a hurry to get to them.
