Song(s) of the Moment [8/30] An American in Paris

Songs of the Moment is a bi-monthly feature I started where I pick a song that represents the week, day or month; that fits with a moment I recently had. Or that's been on repeat.

What with my last post you'd think I have a theme.
Well, actually, I guess I did. Songs about Spain aren't as famous as Paris ones but I spent some time there too.
Then Paris (or you know now).

I actually wanted to go to Morocco. Of course that was mainly because of Casablanca. The movie not the city. But I guess now, "I'll always have Paris."
And have fun references to a favorite movie.

Thoughtfilled Thoughts: Author Signings*

*Originally and full "thought" post from June 10, 2013

...the people working there realized that the line was longer than they expected and started announcing that we'd only be able to get two books signed.
Now I'd noticed this before, people going around with their wheelbarrows full of one author's books to get signed, I even acknowledged it when I went to the Libba Bray signing back in October, one girl had a bag filled with her books.
But it was at this point, probably because I had the time (almost 2 hours worth), that I kind of started getting annoyed by these people.

I'm sharing this now because it all came back to me last week when I went to a signing with Richelle Mead, where she said she'd sign up to 4 books, and there was everybody with their bags filled with books And this one guy that had his four books and had his dad hold his other four. Yeah don't think I didn't notice that dude, (how I feel about fans; in my next angry rant... I mean thought-filled post), thankfully somehow I managed to get in front of him.

A Healing Heart A Healing Heart by Melissa A. Hanson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Published February 14th 2012 by Melissa Hanson

Two years later as she lives with her aunt and uncle in Southern California, Bailey is still plagued by the nightmares of that terrible night. Everywhere around her are reminders of what she lost. Even her aunt, in a cruel twist of fate, is not just her mom’s sister, but her identical twin. Babysitting Riley, a spunky two-year old, is a sweet distraction and one constant light in her life. One day as she takes Riley to the park she meets Collin McKenna, a senior at her high school and her life is changed forever as he helps her find herself and realize her life is worth living. As the romance between them grows her broken heart begins to heal. However, still nagging in the back of her conscious is the fear that her new found happiness could come crashing down and she could lose everything she loves, yet again. Outside forces begin to tear them apart and Bailey must learn to trust in herself and realize that she is worthy of happiness. That sometimes love and healing comes in unexpected forms.

Quotable Quotes - Why I Write

“We write to taste life twice, in the moment and in retrospect.” ― Ana├»s Nin

That is exactly why I write... when I write.

"To-Do" #7 - Do Something*

This is a list of things to do in my life. I'm making it because I'm big on life experiences. They are things I'd like to experience in my life, however small, although very few actually are.

I haven't written any "to do's" since May of last year. And considering that this is only #7 and I started this back in August 2011 that's kind of bad.
I've really let myself down when it comes to all the plans I had when I started this blog. Although now that I think of it last May was when a lot of things were, well, upheaved for me. Really, it probably wasn't a huge deal, but we all have our comfort zones and we all have to have things a certain way.

Song(s) of the Moment [8/16]

I'm going to let this week's songs do the "talking."

Running Away with The Doctor*

Here's something I haven't done in a while, gone off on a thought-filled thought. This is actually a thought that has been going through my mind for years in some form or other, I've most likely even mentioned it before. And also Doctor Who.

Doctor Who mainly comes into the subject when my cousin  brings up our never ending discussion on the Doctors companions.

To her it's a very unlucky position they're in, seeing as how in the end they all share the same fate.
Death, in some unlikely shape or form.

Me and the Princess Diaries

It's the 15th anniversary of The Princess Diaries movie! Since I consider this movie to be the "first domino" of who I am I just have to re-share my story of when I went to see it (15 years ago!) and the lasting results it left.

Like most readers I discovered Meg Cabot thanks to a certain Disney movie based on her book
The Princess Diaries.

Song(s) of the Moment [8/2]

Songs of the Moment is a bi-monthly feature I started where I pick a song that represents the week, day or month; that fits with a moment I recently had. Or that's been on repeat.

I can't believe I completely missed July! I just didn't feel like writing. It got to a point where I basically forgot my entire process. "Wait, how do I normally do this?"
