Top Ten Favorite Book Quotes

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.

I can't even begin to say how much I've missed sharing quotes here. I hate that it's one of many things I've lagged on. Especially since deciding I will no longer be blogging, I just threw in the towel on so much.
Normally a post like this would motivate me to keep doing more quote related posts, but with the end a little more than a month away, this will most likely not only be my last quote quotable post but also my last top ten Tuesday.
Sad.

I've decided to go with quotes from books I've read in the past year:

“Why must I always be a man's servant?" Lada demanded. "If anything, I should be partners with the devil, not his servant.”
― Kiersten White, Now I Rise

“Of course he thought he'd be all right. Guys weren't taught not to walk alone at night. Guys weren't taught not to leave their drinks unattended. Guys weren't taught to carry Mace or whistles or to consider carefully whether or not to fight back.”
― Chandler Baker, Teen Hyde

“Life is kind, and full of great moments, but I think the greatest moment of my life is always ahead of me. When I reach it, there will be another, greater moment to come.”
― Lindsey Stirling, The Only Pirate at the Party

“I think aggression is a sign of weakness. I'm always more impressed when people can end something with words.”
― Kiera Cass, The Heir

“There was such fear in the world. But love was everywhere if you looked. It was the best thing about humans. That they could stare into the abyss and still open up their hearts. A spit in the eye to fear.”
― Libba Bray, Before the Devil Breaks You

“We cannot spend our lives in hiding, wondering what we might accomplish if given the chance. We have to take that chance ourselves.”
― Leigh Bardugo, Wonder Woman: Warbringer

“How much time had she wasted living in fear? Living for others? How much of her life would she continue to let slip away without enjoying a single moment?
That ended. Here and now.”
― Gretchen McNeil, Ten

“But one thing you can't change, unlike your hair or your shoes, is other people. Only they can do that.
Sadly, they almost never do.
But there's always hope.”
― Meg Cabot, Royal Crush: From the Notebooks of a Middle School Princess

“There was no such thing as a happy ending, only a happy present.”
― Melissa de la Cruz, Vampires of Manhattan

“...we are all sorry when loss comes for us. The test of our character comes not in how many tears we shed but in how we act after those tears have dried.”
― Michelle Moran, Madame Tussaud: A Novel of the French Revolution
